The Plain Plane

Once there was a plain plane
Very strong and sturdy
There also was a fancy plane
Who hated to get dirty

Said fancy plane to plain plane
"You're really very strong
But you're also very dirty
Don't you find that wrong?"

The plain plane stretched his wings and yawned
"My dear, your statement bores
I fly families to vacations
And soldiers to far shores

I fly business folks to meetings
I've been around the world
I've had some great adventures
Through storms I've safely hurled

You fret how others see you
So on the ground you stay
While I'm living life completely
Each and every day"

The fancy plane took this to heart
Saw wisdom in his words
So now she's soaring through the clouds
No longer minding birds
